Forever Young™ BBL provides treatment for skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage. BBL, or broadband light, can be customized to your needs and precisely treats fine wrinkles, age and sun spots, small facial veins, and several other types of skin blemishes on several areas of the body. This treatment is gentle, non-invasive, and safe.
Light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen, helping to restore your skin to its natural beauty and leading to a smoother, more vibrant look.
In addition, the light energy will target and eliminate many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for brown lesions.
Within weeks, your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated.
Forever Young™ BBL treatment requires virtually no downtime. In most cases, you will be able to resume your normal activities right away.
You may have some redness and swelling for a day and flaking for one week. Ice can be applied to the treated area if desired. Medications containing aspirin or anti-inflammatories should be avoided for a couple days before and after treatment.
After treatment, the skin will be sensitive to sunlight. Direct sunlight and tanning beds should be avoided for 1-month before and after each Forever Young™ BBL session.
Strenuous exercise and contact sports should be avoided for a few days.
Alcohol intake should be limited, as this will help to reduce the risk of trauma and bruising.
By performing microdermabrasion or dermaplaning between sessions, recovery may be enhanced and results may be improved.
For those with significant pigmentation, you may notice brown areas becoming temporarily darker and sloughing off over the next week.
Individuals with a prominent brown or red color to their complexion may develop slight temporary swelling for a few days.
Rarely, some individuals develop “purpura,” or bruising. Although uncommon, this sometimes occurs in individuals with a very prominent red component to their complexion. This is painless and typically fades in about 5-10 days. Any bruising may be covered with makeup.
Your procedure may take anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed.
A cold gel is usually applied to the areas to be treated and patients wear protective eyewear.
The smooth, glass surface of the BBL handpiece is applied to the skin and light is delivered to the skin surface in precise pulses across the treatment area. Patients often describe a stinging sensation in the treated areas, similar to a rubber band snap.
On average, 3 treatments are recommended, scheduled at 1-month intervals. Each session usually lasts about 20 minutes.
