An earlobe repair is a procedure in which a lobe that is torn or stretched is repaired. This service is considered cosmetic in nature and is not covered by insurance.
Earlobe repair is performed on individuals who have torn or stretched earlobes from wearing heavy earrings regularly, having gauges, or suffering sudden trauma.
Using local anesthesia, your provider will cut away the skin lining the tear, remove excess tissue if necessary, and suture the lobe back together.
There may be mild discomfort to the earlobe immediately following the procedure. After treatment, you will need to apply an ointment for 1 week to help with healing, then have sutures removed 7-10 days after.
Once healed, your provider can re-pierce your ear.
Everyone’s skin is different, so your skincare plan should be too.
